Body-Mind Connection

We have age old expressions for this:

  • “getting choked up”
  • “having a broken heart”
  • “giving you the chills”
  • “your stomach is in knots”
  • “feeling it in your gut”
  •  someone being “a pain in the neck (or worse)”
  •  and “a headache to deal with”.

The posture we associate with a healthy, confident person is much different from that of someone dealing with depression or anxiety.

Many people will agree that long term stress is bad for the health of our bodies, and that exercise and movement help clear the mind (and cognitive function as we age!). So is it that far-fetched to believe that our mental/emotional state will influence the physical state of our bodies? And vice versa?

We believe that the mind, movement, and spirit are all connected. When one of these is in a freer place, the others will follow. Although not a “cure”, our osteopathic techniques have significantly helped our clients dealing with mental and emotional problems.

Some conditions that manual therapy has helped our clients with: Anxiety, ADHD, Autism Spectrum, Depression, OCD, Disordered Sleep, Disordered Eating, History of Trauma, Chronic Fatigue, Cognitive Fog, Fibromyalgia, Headaches/Migraines, and more.
